B2 Writing 01 | Part 2 Email

You have received this email from your English-speaking friend, Victor.

I’m really looking forward to getting together when I’m in town over the holidays. It’s been such a long time since I’ve seen you! Do you have any ideas of things we could do? Also, I’d like to get a small present for your family. What do you think they might like?

See you soon, Victor

    Hi Victor,
How have you been? I’m sorry to be so slow getting back to you but i’ve been in hospital with pneumonia for the last 4 days, you have nothing to worry about, i’ll be fully recovered when you get here.
There are a lot of activities we can do together, like going to the cinema to see the movie you’ve been eager to see since last year, well, by the time you are here it’ll be come out already. We could also go to a vegan restaurant, i know how much you love vegetarian food and what’s more, we won’t have to spend money because my father is the owner.
Getting a present for my family is very thoughtful of you and i know what they might like. Do you remember the rock album my parents have being looking for a long time, i did some research and i found out it is being sold in your city so i think it would be awesome if you buy it for them. I assure you that you’ll be the apple of their eyes during your stay if you do it.
Well, that’s all for now. I’m really looking forward to seeing you again, it’ll be the boost i need for these couple of weeks.
Give my regards to your family,
    Robert

How have you been? I´m so excited to see you again, I can´t wait to meet you! I would like to know how many days you´ll be here, so I can make up a plan.

My town is small, but there are a couple of things that we can do. We could visit some historical buildings, those are stunningly beautiful, I´m really sure you would like them. Apart from that, my town is surrounded by amazing nature. I suggest to go aut and visit some lakes, rivers, mountains, etc.

To be honest. It´s not necessary to bring presents for us, however if you want, anything, it will be welcome. Just to let you know, my mom likes perfumes, my dad scarfs, and me, a you know, I´m crazy about chocolates. By the way, Could you please bring coins from your country? I took up a new hobby, collecting coins from around all the world.

If you have any question, please let me know. I am sure we´ll have a wondeful time together after so long

    Hugs
    Diana

Very good Diana. Be careful with some spelling and punctuation.

Very good Oscar. Some language is too formal though. Practice using more informal language. Also some spelling errors.

    Hi Victor,
thank you for writing me. It has been ages since I last heard from you and I’m very happy to host you in my apartment. You can come whenever you want because I’m on holiday until the end of this month. As I know you love nature I’m organizing some excursions on Conero mountain which covers a big area of my town, and it is full of green spaces to visit and also parks are spectacular. I would like to reach with you the top of the mountain because from up there the view is stunning. In the evening we can go outside in fact my town offers also nightlife, there are so many pubs and clubs near the sea. You have only to choose where you want to go. As for the present for my parents, this time don’t take anything but If you insist, a typical wine of your region is enough.
I looking forward to seeing you. Let me know when you get to the airport
    Bye
    Liana

Good Liana. Don’t forget to structure with paragraphs. Some slightly formal language too e.g. host.
